APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The V16.1.0.3 and V16.1.0.4 XL C++ Runtime installation packages
did not include the base V16.1.0.0 runtime filesets.  This
causes missing prerequisite errors during installation if the
base filesets are not already installed:

  installation media.

Local fix

  • Install the base V16.1.0.0 filesets prior to installing the
V16.1.0.3 or V16.1.0.4 PTFs.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
Users wanting to install the C++ Runtime from the 'C++ Runtime
only' package
and who do not have the base V16.1.0.0 C++ runtime already
installed are affected by this issue.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The C++ Runtime only package should be installable on its own
even if you do not
have the C++ Runtime V16.1.0.0 base installed on your system.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is to include the base V16.1.0.0 C++ Runtime filesets in
 the 'C++ Runtime only' package.
