Error description
Error Message: An unexpected ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException occurs in addAttributeRunData when attempting to add an attribute. . Stack Trace: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException at java.text.AttributedString.addAttributeRunData(AttributedString. java:536) at java.text.AttributedString.addAttributeImpl(AttributedString.jav a:425) at java.text.AttributedString.addAttribute(AttributedString.java:36 4) . The problem may be intermittent and only happens on the Z platform.
Local fix
This issue can be worked around by disabling high-word register support in the JIT via the -Xjit:disableHighWordRA,disableHPRSpill,disableHPRUpgrade option.
Problem summary
The JIT compiler's register allocator has generated an incorrect sequence of instructions using high-word registers.
Problem conclusion
The problem has been fixed by removing the problematic feature from the JIT. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR5 FP31 (8.0.5.31) .
