IJ07682: CRASH IN JIT DURING METHOD COMPILATION

Error description

• Error Message: The error will be a segmentation error and can
  happen while the JIT Compiler is trying to compile a method. It
  can crash while trying to compile various types of methods. It
  will look as follows:

  OMR::Z::Instruction::assignRegisterNoDependencies
  .
  This problem can only happen on IBM Z.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• During register assignment, if the register pressure is high,
  the JIT Compiler can run into a corner case where it is not able
  to allocate a specific register to satisfy an instruction
  dependency. This can result in a segmentation fault when trying
  to generate the corresponding instruction.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT Compiler has been updated to handle the corner case and
  will now allocate the register correctly under a similar
  scenario.
