Error description
************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * Systems running the AIX Technology Level * with bos.cluster.rte at or below the 7.2.2.15 level. ************************************************************** * ERROR DESCRIPTION: * PowerHA Verify & Sync, clcmd, or other processes that * utilize clcomd may hang. * Large numbers of zombie processes for clcmd, clmgr, or * similar commands may be seen if this is occurring. * * Restarting clcomd with stopsrc/startsrc will clean up zombie * processes and allow clcomd to process new events again; * however the issue could re-occur again later, until the fix * is applied. ************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * Install APAR IJ04268. * Prior to fix availability, an interim fix is available from * either * ftp://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/ij04268/ * https://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/ij04268/ * The ifix can be installed using Live Update (LU). * If LU is not used, installation of the ifix requires a * reboot. **************************************************************
Local fix
Stopping and restarting clcomd (stopsrc -s clcomd; startsrc -s clcomd) will allow clcomd to process new events, and clean up existing zombie processes. However, it will not prevent further hangs.
Problem summary
Operations involving clcomd, such as PowerHA Verify & Sync and clcmd commands may hang.
Problem conclusion
Remove unnecessary connection conflict logic that led to an infinite loop of clcomd refreshes.
