Error description
SMS Data sets allocated as PS sometimes become DSORG=PSU. This occurs on release DFSMS 1D0 or higher. The unmovable bit is only being turned on because the application has taken a checkpoint. In DFSMS 1D0, MVS Checkpoint/Restart has added an indicator that uniquely distinguishes between SMS physical sequential data sets checkpointed by MVS Checkpoint/Restart and SMS physical sequential data sets checkpointed by IMS. There is code in OPEN processing which will allow for the opening of these data sets. . See OW23526, OW35317, OW37515, and OW38626. .
Local fix
See DFSMS 1.4 Planning for Installation: 2.2.2 DFSMSdss Enhanced Protection of Checkpointed Data Sets ... DFSMSdss has added support to prevent movement of both types of data sets. To bypass this and ALLOW the data sets to be moved, use the FORCECP keyword. This will allow DFSMSdss to move the datasets. **** WARNING: FORCECP WILL TURN OFF THE UNMOVABLE BIT WHICH MAY CAUSE THE DATA SET TO BE MIGRATED AT WHICH TIME THE DATA SET WILL NO LONGER BE ELIGIBLE FOR RESTART PROCESSING **** .. Also see website for "DFSMS/MVS V1R4 Technical Guide": http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/SG244892/2.4 .
