Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All 5250 display session users hosting DDS * * applications * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a DDS window is created, SBCS * * characters in the DDS window may be * * displayed incorrectly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Under a DBCS (double byte character set) environment, when a DDS window is created at particular positions, SBCS (single byte charcter set) characters in the DDS window may be displayed incorrectly. In other words, the SBCS characters are treated as DBCS characters. Each position in the Presentation Space is identified to be a DBCS or SBCS field based on whether the DBCS plane, for that position, is NULL or not NULL. If the position happens to be a Field Attribute (identifier of a field), the DBCS plane may contain non-NULL data. However, Field Attribute is a non-DBCS entity and should be treated as SBCS.
Problem conclusion
PCSLT52.DLL code changes have been made to treat field attribute as a SBCS field, even though DBCS plane is not NULL. Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.12 Refresh Pack
