Error description
WebSphere MQ clients can create an MQCD structure containing a channel definition and pass it to the MQCONNX function via the MQCNO connect options structure. Even though the client has properly filled in the MQCD structure, the MQCONNX call fails with reason code MQRC_CD_ERROR (2277). A trace of the client shows reason code rrcE_INVALID_MQCD, and the error log shows message AMQ9498 ("The MQCD structure supplied was not valid") with the following explanation: . The value of the 'ExitNameLength' field has the value '0'. This value is invalid for the operation requested.
Local fix
Connecting using a client channel definition table or by using the MQSERVER environment variable.
