Error description
The network interface counters displayed for VLANs are always 0, even if they are actively being used for traffic. The network interface counters can be displayed by any of the following methods: 1) "show network-interface" in the CLI 2) Navigating to "Status->IP-Network->Network Interfaces" in the WebGUI 3) Using SOMA to get-status for all classes or class="NetworkInterfaceStatus"
Local fix
Problem summary
Affected are customers configuring VLAN virtual interfaces on DataPower appliances running firmware versions 5.0.0.0-5.0.0.4. Earlier firmware releases are not affected. Network interface statistics reported via "show network-interface" CLI command, WebGUI or other management channels report all counts as 0 for each VLAN interface even if the interface takes traffic. This is caused by a programming error in the VLAN interface implementation.
Problem conclusion
