  • svc is marked as unknown if tpcr is unable to connect to it

Problem summary


    

  • The SVC authentication username and password
became out of sync with the TPC-R server and the attached
devices. The two


passwords for the source and target SVC's were asymettric therby
compounding the issue. TPC-R was unable to query what type of
device was connected because of the authentication failure
thereby causing the connection type to be displayed as
:"Unknown"

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This problem was fixed in the code by not allowing an Unknown
type to be surfaced and instead if we cannot find the device
type return the default type SVC.
