Error description
During a short window of time when a NAS device is being initialized, a memory buffer can become corrupted leading to a crash. - This is more likely to occur if there are connection problems with the NAS devices because the window of time for initializing the NAS device may be significantly increased. - This issue will only be present when a server configuration has more than one path to a library device originating from a NAS datamover. - Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All TSM releases and platforms Customer/L2 Diagnostics: Analysis of a core file generated by the crash may contain a stack similar to the following: TsmRemoteOpen (param=0x33ed10b1c8, dev_info={devtype = 8 '\b', scsi_id = 131 '~', lun_id = 13 '\017', identifier = '\0' <repeats 31 times>}, handle=0x4221ceac, remoteExecuteCdb=0x33ecae0890 <spiRemoteIoctl>) at remote_open.c:271 PvrRemoteOpenAuto () PvrOpenAutoDevice () OpenAutoDevice () MmsAcquireAuto () TestDriveFull () ScsiSetLibDevice () PerformInit () InitThread () StartThread () start_thread () Additionally, attempts to start the Tivoli Storage Manager Server may result in in a segmentation fault similar to the following: ANR7800I DSMSERV generated at 11:43:05 on Apr 25 2010. ANR7801I Subsystem process ID is 22341. ANR0900I Processing options file dsmserv.opt. ANR4726I The ICC support module has been loaded.
