Error description
A SELECT command against the TSM events table can fail with 'ANS8001I Return code 4' while a QUERY EVENTS command does return some valid results. In case the SELECT command fails, a ANR0102E message can be seen in the activity log of the TSM Server. . The problem results from having at least one event which is no longer associated with a client node - most likely as the node was deleted - causing the NODE_NAME of that particular event record to be of length 0 (zero). It can happen that after some time this SELECT command is working again when the particular event record has been deleted as the Event Record Retention Period has been exceeded. . . Local fix
Use the QUERY EVENTS command (maybe with options BEGINDATE/BEGINTIME and ENDDATE/ENDTIME)
