IC43208: CLEARCASE/WSAD PLUGIN: WHEN ACCESSING HELP CONTENTS FROM WSAD, WHEN INSTALLED ON A GERMAN OS, THE HELP FILES ARE IN PORTUGUESE

  ClearCase versions affected: ClearCase(R) 2003.06.13

  Problem Description:
  German customer trying to use the help files from help contents
  in the WebSphere Studio Application Developer IDE and the help
  files are written in Portuguese rather than German.
  
  Steps to repro:
  Install a German Windows OS with ClearCase and WSAD and the
  ClearCase plugin for WSAD.
  Version of ClearCase 2003.06.13
  Version of WSAD 5.1.2
  Version of the ClearCase Plugin 2.2.61
  
  Access the help contents from WSAD and you will see that the
  information is written in Portuguese rather than German.
  
  Looking to the source of the problem here is what we found:
  
  These files are located in :
  C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application
  Developer\v5.1.2\Rational\eclipse\plugins\com.rational.clearcase

  The only directories that have help files in them are:
  
  De which has Portuguese
  Ja
  Ko
  Pt has a directory BR ? which I am assuming is Brazil and where
  the Portuguese help files should go
  Zh has 2 folders CN and TW which are both populated.
  
  Since we do not currently offer a translation in German (de) I
  would expect to see either nothing or at a minimum and English
  translation..
  

Local fix

• WORK AROUND:
  
  Customers work around is to zip the help files from :
  C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application
  Developer\v5.1.2\Rational\eclipse\plugins\com.rational.clearcase
  .help_2.1.11\doc
  and replace the zip file in the Directory of
  C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application
  Developer\v5.1.2\Rati
  onal\eclipse\plugins\com.rational.clearcase.help.nl1_2.1.8\nl
  and substitue the xml files from the root folder.

Problem conclusion

• We don't translate in german so the translated help was removed.
