APAR status

Error description

  • SCENARIO:
    1. Create a new Product.
    2. From Tools / Image / Video, start Video Recorder.
    3. Click on Setup icon.
    4. Select VFW Codec as Format and put C:\temp\ as Directory
    and test1.avi as File Name.
    5. Click on Compressor Setup button.
    6. Select Cinepak Codec by Radius as Compressor.
    7. Click on Recording button to start recording.
    8. Insert a new Part into Product and click on Stop to stop
    recording.
    9. Confirm that Frames: 1 size is 111kb. (value may be
    different)
    10. Close existing Product and create a new Product.
    11. Click on Setup icon in Video Recorder.
    12. Put test2.avi as File Name without changing Format or
    Directory.
    13. Click on Compressor Setup button.
    14. Select Full Frames (Uncompressed) as Compressor.
    15. Click on Recording button to start recording.
    16. Insert a new Part into Product and click on Stop to stop
    recording.
    17. Confirm that Frames: 1 size is 3540kb. (value may be
    different)
    18. Close existing Product and create a new Product.
    19. Click on Setup icon in Video Recorder.
    20. Click on Compressor Setup button without changing Format,
    Directory or File Name.
    21. Select Cinepak Codec by Radius as Compressor.
    22. Click on Recording button to start recording.
    23. Insert a new Part into Product and click on Stop to stop
    recording.
    24. Confirm that Frames: 1 size is 3540kb. (value may be
    different)

    OBSERVATION:
    The frame size obtained from same Compressor (Cinepak Codec
    by Radius) is different as seen in Step 9 and Step 24.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    The frame size obtained by using same Compressor should be

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION V5R21 GA level.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R20 SP2.
    Additional Closure Information:
    INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
    Frame size of video recorded using Cinepak Codec by Radius as
    compressor is incorrect.
    .
    CORRECTION EXPLANATION:
    Algorithm is modified to get expected result. Now correct
    frame size is displayed in above mentioned levels.
