Error description

  • ECM:BROKEN CONTEXTUAL LINKS IN ELECTRICAL
    WIREWAYS.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1.In Enovia LCA, send an assembly to the Instance
    View.
    2.Unlock an instance and the document underneath
    and lock them to    yourself.
    3.Then, right-click them individually and
    select "Change Status".
    4.Promote each of them from "In Work"
    to "External Review".
    5.Right-click the instance in the Instance View and
    select "New Version".
    6.In the Characteristics section on the right, select
    the Documents tab.
    7.Open the "Primary" level.
    8.Right-click the document and select "New
    Revision".
    9.Send this to Catia.
    10.Look through the specification tree, and find that
    the products
    will switch to a brown gear with a red lightning.
    .
    RESULT:
    - Contextual links are broken.

  • Incident Diagnosis:
    New version or New Evolution command in LCA
    classic break CONTEXTUAL LINKS for black box
    part.LCA classic can not register broken link for the
    partwhich is not exposed to ENOVIA(for black box
    part)whereas CATIA knows about broken link in
    tree and can register(reroute links) it.
    .
    Correct Application:
    To reroute the contextual links properly:
    1. Enovia V5, go to the Document tab,
    2. Right-click the instance and select New
    Reference to duplicate the document,
    3. in CATIA V5, load the new assembly,
    select Components and Define Contextual Links to
    reroute the contextual links on the new instances
    .
