Error description

• smarteam inventor release checked-in parts of
  assembly error
  this customer has an issue with the release
  operation on Inventor products with derived parts.
  The client has assemblies containing derived
  components.
  It is however not possible to correctly release
  those checked-in parts of the assembly without
  errors.
  See steps below to reproduce the problem:
  Reproduce (SmDemo V5R18 SP6 - Inventor
  Professional 2008):
  -------------
  Create an assembly containing checked in part and
  a checked in derived part:
  1. Start Inventor Professional 2008 with SmarTeam
  integration
  2. Inventor - New part
  3. Inventor - SmarTeam save ('part1.ipt' created)
  4. Inventor - New part (for the derived component)
  5. Do not draw anything, immediately close sketch
  ("Return" button)
  6. Choose derived component from the Part
  Features list
  7. Choose the 'part1' (set scale factor to 2, to be
  able to easily distinguish the parts)
  8. Inventor - SmarTeam save ('part2.ipt' created,
  this is the derived component)
  9. Inventor - SmarTeam check in part1
  10. Inventor - SmarTeam check in part2
  11. Inventor - New assembly
  12. Place component - smart desktop - 'part1'
  13. Place component - smart desktop - 'part2' (the
  derived component)
  14. Inventor - SmarTeam save 'assembly1.iam'
  15. Inventor - File Open - Smart Desktop - choose
  part1
  16. Inventor - SmarTeam Release part1
  ==> Error message: SmartInventor "parameter is
  incorrect" (see attachment)
  This message is a bug.
  They can reproduce this problem in SmDemo
  with "derived parts", as described.
  It occurs with every derived part.
  The derived parts are not special ones.
  You can create whatever "derived part" you want,
  problem will occur.
  Just make sure that part2 is derived from part1.
  Could you correct this behavior?
