Error description

  • Scenario :
    1- Open the CATProduct file
2- Double click on Bundle Segment.1 in the
specification tree : diameter is 20 mm
3- Enter Tools / Options / Equipment and Systems
and choose the Electrical Process Interfacing tab.
4- Specify the location of the System Repository
5- Select the 'Select External Systems' icon and

7- Select all wires in the dialog box and click on
Route button to start the wire routing.
    8- Update harness.
9- Double click on Bundle Segment.1 in the
specification tree to see which diameter the
    segment has.
    Result :
After wire routing diameter bundle segment is
    42.684 mm
    Expected Result :
Diameter should not be changed after Wire Routing
    .

Comments

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 18 GA level.
    Incident Diagnosis
Wrong computation formula for bundle segment
    Answer and By-pass :
A new Limited Availability formula has been
provided. This formula needs two variables to be
set before launching CATIA on V5R16 and V5R17.
The new formula will compute the equivalent
diameter of the segment to have its section area
equal to the sum of all wire's section area
mulitplied by a factor equal to 1+
This functionality will become GA (General
    Availability) in V5R18.
So for V5R18, a setting will be added and no
    environment varaible will be needed.
