Error description

  • Shape Design : continuity between fill surface and
support face is not tangent (APAR HD21867)
    .
With tangency tolerance equal or inferior to
0.5degree, CATIA considers that 2 faces which
have an angular (angle) discontinuity <0.5deg
    are 'continuos in tangency' (G1)
    .
If the checker result is <0.5deg, it means that
CATIA will consider the faces as G1, but it is not
true that all the geometry created above will be
also a G1, some operators (like sweep, loft...) can
    spoil the quality.
    .
About Fill Surface function, the tangent option of Fill
does not create the surface of the smallest degrees
by all possible, only creating the surface which has
    less than 0.5 degrees.
In other words, even if the surface with 0 deg
can be created mathematically, the surface which
has less than 0.5 degrees is created.

    MODIFICATION:
    In chapter Checking Connections Between
Surfaces I added the following information:
    .
When the minimal distance between two vertexes
is inferior to 1 micron, the vertexes are merged
and the surface is considered as continuous in point.
    .
When the angle between two surfaces is inferior to
0.5 degree, the surface is considered as continuous
    in tangency.
    .
In chapter Checking Connections Between Curves,
the following information is added :
    .
When the minimal distance between two vertexes
is inferior to 1 micron, the vertexes are merged
and the curve is considered as continuous in point.
    .
When the angle between two curves is inferior to
0.5 degree, the curve is considered as continuous
    in tangency.
