Error description

  • CORE AND CAVITY - COLOURS ARE NOT SHOWN WHEN DEFINING
PULLING DIRECTION IF MECHANICAL STANDARDS COLOURS ARE SET
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Copy the included CATStdMechanicalDesign.XML to the
resources\standard directory of your V5 software
    2. Create a new CATProduct and select it by double-clicking
    3. Start the Core & Cavity Design workbench
    4. Select the Import Model icon
    5. Load the included CATPart using the Model Reference
    folder icon
    6. Select the Defines Pulling Direction icon
    7. Select one of the top faces of the part and the faces
should then all show as red , green or blue
    8. Press OK to accept, then the part goes pink !
    9. This is because the Pulling Direction creates new
surfaces and the standards file has defined new surfaces as
    pink.
    10. It therefore does not allow the user to correctly define
the slider directions as they cannot see which areas need to
    be defined.

Comments

  • THIS APAR IS CONSIDERED AS A SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT FOR
    CATIA.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT DEPARTMENT IN ORDER TO OPEN A
    REQUIREMENT FORM.
     .
     JUSTIFICATION FOR DEVLOPMENT REQUEST:
Preview displays faces temporary colorized on part to
show repartitin of faces in joins that will be created.
When Ok is clicked, 3 Join features are created, color of
such feature being defines through xml file.
So features generated are colorized according to what is
    defined in xml file.
A heavy mechanism associated to xml file has to be developped.
It is why an enhancement request is needed.
