HC99275: TEAM PDM: CAN'T DELETE PARAMETER FROM DRAWING ONCE IT IS MAPPED TO ST

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TEAM PDM: Can't delete parameter  from Drawing once it is
  mapped to ST
  Sceanario:
  1) Open CATIA, Connect to Smarteam to SmCATIA database as
  joe
  2) Create new Drawing from File->New menu
  3) Save Drawing on local hard drive
  4) Save Drawing to Smarteam, enter "ST Description" in the
  Description fields of Drawing and Sheet objects
  5) Switch Drawing to the background view and add text
  "Background Text"
  6) Map the text to Smarteam's Description attribute using
  TeamPDM->Properties->Map a Text Value.. Select mapping to be
  bidirectional (update property and update TeamPDM)
  7) Update text in the drawing from Smarteam by invoking
  TeamPDM->Properties->Load from database. Now the value of
  text in the drawing has changed from "Background Text" to
  "ST Description"
  8) Delete parameter by right-clicking on Description
  parameter in the left pane of Drawing window and selecting
  Delete from the pop-up menu.
  9) The following message will pop up: "You can only delete
  the new parameters that you have added to the part; the
  parameters created for each feature can be deleted only by
  deleting the feature itself"
  

Local fix

Problem summary

•  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
    The creation of f(x) parameter during the execution of the
    command "Map a Text Value" was badly done.
    That's why it was not possible to delete it.
  
   TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR THE CORRECTION:
    Now, the creation makes something that is close to what a
    user would have done manually.
    Thus, the result is the same as if the operation has been done
    manually:
     .If he wants, the user can erase the knowledge parameter.
     .After that, the text looses its link and becomes "Isolated"
  
   ANSWER AND POSSIBLE BY-PASS:
    The only by-pass before this correction was to delete all the
    parameters (by selectionning delete on "Parameters" node.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
    CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 11 GA level.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R10SP01 and
   V5R9SP05
