Error description
Environment: UNIX -SGI- LUM server Win NT 4.0 SP6a Clients Catia V4 SP3 LUM 4.5.8 . Problem Description: With a LUM license server environment, get: 1. 2 licenses for HD2 modules. 2. 1 flotting license for Space Analysis : SPA 3. Log on with user A on a machine select the license HD2 and SPA. Restart Catia to take license HD2 and SPA in consideration. 4. Log on a different machine with user B and select HD2 only. 5. Load a 30 minutes DMU model 6. Select SPA, because you need to do one dynamic sectionning (exemple). 7. You must restart Catia V5 to take SPA in consideration. So exit and Restart. 8. User B now relises that License SPA is not available, and he has to reload his 30 minutes model... Conclusion: In an Industrial environment, licenses must be managed dynamically, most products work this way (even Catia V4). Today, all licenses are checked only once when the session is starting and it is impossible to modify the current user license configuration without exiting and restarting Catia V5. As in the exemple above the second user will have lost 30 mniutes to load his model then select his license, exit Catia and log back in to realise that the license is not available because it is used by an other user... Please see the customers scenario in which they have 2 users sharing one license (SPA). Please advise how they can successfully release and reaquire the license without the impact of having to wait for the DMU model to reload.
