Error description

• As for now, each user uses a different port number to listen to
  conferencing messages.
  This is to enable conferencing between several users on a same
  port for everybody.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

•  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
   To enable several users on a same machine to use conferencing
   (using a different display :-)), the communication port number
   depends on the user id. This is not convenient to organizations
   for organizations using firewalls since the range of ports
    can be wide.
  
  
   TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR THE CORRECTION:
  The new shell variable CATCONFERENCINGPORT enables to set the
  communication port for conferencing in 4D Navigator.
  If everybody uses the same port, firewalls  has only one port
  to filter.
  
  the port number specified by the CATCONFERENCINGPORT variable
  is used for listening only, and calling ports still use
  the uid-numbered port.
  
  When inviting guests, the calling port numbers are incremented
    from t he listening port number  specified by the
  CATCONFERECINGPORT variable.
  
  example : if CATCONFERENCINGPORT=2000, the calling ports will be
   001, then 2002, and so on...
   So a firewall would have to enable 2000 and further port
   numbers depending on the max number of invitations sent in a
   session.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
    CATIA VERSION 4 RELEASE 2.1 REFRESH 1 GA level  (FREL421R1)
