APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: Java process freezes when customer generates
javacore with "kill -3" SIGQUIT signal. The generated javacore
remains incomplete.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • Java 8.0.7.10 introduced enhanced symbol resolution of native
stacks within the javacore. The extra work to resolve symbols
takes more time than allowed by the deadline specified to
generate javacore file, eventually leading to the JVM freeze.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The JVM has been fixed to avoid hanging during javacore
generation.
