This technote explains whether the AFS (Andrew File System) is supported for use with IBM® Rational® ClearCase® on Linux® and UNIX®.

The Andrew File System (AFS) is a distributed networked file system.
AFS is specifically designed to provide reliable file services in large distributed environments. AFS is similar to the NFS (Network File System). AFS is geared towards providing functionality that makes the way users retrieve information the same from any location, allowing users to collaborate and share information.
ClearCase is not supported on AFS.
