ADMA0111E when running deployment using wsadmin with deployejb option

Troubleshooting

Problem

-deployejb fails when running mixed node environment ie Deployment Manager 7.0.x and Nodes 6.1.0.X ( with EJB Feature Pack ).

Symptom

When running deployment using wsadmin and with deployejb option error received is:

ADMA0111E: The following J2EE and deployment options [deployejb] are selected, but are not supported while installing an application on nodes [dgt1was4WASNode,dgt1was3WASNode] of version [6, 6]

Cause

-deployejb is not supported in mixed node environment

Resolving The Problem

You cannot specify the deployejb option when you target the application to a down-level node. That is because the uplevel JDK is used to generate Java™ class files, and those class files will not run in the down-level node. So deployejb is not supported in mixed cell environment.

Note : Similar error can be used when using -deployws in mixed cell environment.

ADMA0111E: The following J2EE and deployment options [deployws] are selected, but are not supported while installing an application on nodes [was03Node02, was04Node02] of version [6, 6]

deployws option cannot be specified when node on which application is targeted is downlevel ie mixed cell environment. Please refer to Install Option Settings.
