Additional step to deploy IBM Maximo Health as part of IBM Maximo Manage

Troubleshooting

Problem

The documentation for deploying IBM Maximo Health 8.2.0 as a part of IBM Maximo Manage 8.0.0 is missing a post-activation step. After deployment and activation are completed, you must configure an integration user, create an API key, and then configure two system properties.

Resolving The Problem

  1. In Maximo Manage, create an integration user. The integration user must be able to use REST APIs to access work orders and service requests in Maximo Manage.
  2. Create the API key.
    1. In Maximo Manage, open the Administration Work Center.
    2. On the API Keys tab, click Add API key.
    3. In the User field, specify the user ID for the integration user and click Add.
    4. On the API key card, click Copy key and save the API key in a location that you can access.
  3. Configure the system properties.
    1. In Maximo Health, Maximo Predict, or Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities, from the navigation menu, select Application administration.
    2. In the System Properties application, in the Property Name field, search for mxe.eternaleam.
    3. Open the row for the mxe.externaleam.apikey system property and in the Current Value field, specify the Maximo Manage integration user's API key and then save the row.
    4. Open the row for the mxe.externaleam.url system property and in the Current Value field, specify the URL for Maximo Manage and then save the row.
