Additional ACTION HOLD information for APAR PH22448 ( SPE 9502 )

Question & Answer

Question

Are there any additional ACTION HOLDS or installation related documentation for APAR PH22448  ( SMALL PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT APAR SPE9502 )?

Answer

Yes - please review all the following before installing the PTFs UI688881 and UI688882.
Note:  Item (4) was added April 27, 2020
(1) In addition to the ACTION HOLDS listed in UI688881 there should be an additional ACTION HOLD added because the
subsystem module EQQSSCMN is modified by the application of these PTFs.
ADDITIONAL HOLD:
In order to correctly apply the fix, the user needs to reload the new EQQSSCMN, either doing a system IPL
or restarting the started task  (controller or tracker)
adding the following options to the OPCOPTS statement:

BUILDSSX(REBUILD)
SSCMNAME(EQQSSCMN,PERMANENT)

These parameters should be removed at the next restart of the task
(2 )  Here is the complete ACTION  HOLD section for UI688881:
ACTION 1
---------
After installing the PTF modify the two WAPL JCLs:
EQQYXJPX
EQQYXJPL
by running EQQJOBS or by setting MOD='' in your customized
version of them.

ACTION 2
---------
This APAR requires DWC V9.5 Fix Pack 2.
To leverage the Fix Pack 2 enhancements, you must first apply the
Fix Pack 2, then apply this APAR to the Z Controller, finally
(or concurrently) apply this APAR to the ISPF dialogs.
   ACTION 3
   ---------
For any additional information please go to the following
   technote:
   https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/5694669
(end of ACTION HOLD)

(ACTION 3 refers to the  technote that you are reading)
To explain a little more about the WAPL setting  MOD=''
in EQQYXJPX and EQQYXJPL:     Beginning with this PTF  WAPL
will automatically use the highest MOD level that is installed if you
code MOD=''.    This avoids the need to code for example MOD='+002'  or
MOD='+003'.   You may still go back to an earlier MOD level if required
by coding this MOD= value in the procs instead of MOD=''.   The MOD level
prior to the application of this SPE9502 was MOD='+001'.
(3) Here is the complete ACTION HOLD for UI688882:
 ACTION:

A new version of the EQQPIFJV and EQQPIFCB samples
is shipped with this APAR. Please backup your changes
to the samples before applying the APAR, if any, and
then fit them into the new samples, as needed.

If you use the EQQPIFJC and EQQPIFJV sample for execute the
the OCL, you must follow the instruction explained
in the top of the modules.

To correctly perform the OCL follow the instructions below:

 In the EQQPIFJC:
   From
     01  USRLEV-VALUE  PIC S9(9) COMP  VALUE 12.
   to
     01  USRLEV-VALUE  PIC S9(9) COMP  VALUE 99.
   In the EQQPIFJV:
     From
       I_USRLEV = 12;
     to
       I_USRLEV = 99;
(end of ACTION HOLD)
(4) If you use the BATCH LOADER (PGM=EQQYLTOP)   the job may issue message EQQY136W and then fail with RC=04.
This will be corrected by APAR  PH24768  and its PTF UI69193  should be available soon.  If the PTF is not available
please follow the LOCAL FIX of the APAR, which is to add an EQQYPARM  DD that contains an INIT state, emt
       with  USRLEV(99) .
If you have any questions concerning the application of these PTFs please open a case for the
z Workload Scheduler product.  If you have any question regarding the DWC 9.5 Fix Pack 2
please open a case with the Workload Scheduler  product.
