Adding third-party Cordova plugins results in "Error adding plugin"

Problem

Attempts to add the third-party Cordova plugin to your development environment with the "mfp cordova plugin add" command might result in the error "Error adding plugin" despite the successful installation of the plugin.

Diagnosing The Problem

Typically, when the installation of a third-party Cordova plugin fails, you receive a series of error messages. If you receive only an "Error adding plugin" message, the installation of the plugin was likely successful.

To confirm the installation of the plugin, run the mfp cordova plugin list command.

Resolving The Problem

If the plugin that you installed appears in the output of the command, the installation of the third-party plugin was successful despite the error message.

If the plugin does not appear in the output of the command, reinstall the plugin with the mfp cordova plugin add command and specify the -dd option to get verbose log output to help determine other problems with the plugin installation.
