Summary
When adding Spectrum Protect or Cloud storage to IBM Spectrum Protect Plus as secondary backup storage, certificates are required to complete the configuration. When these certificates are CA signed, the complete certificate chain, including the root CA certificate and any intermediate CA certificate needs to uploaded.
Objective
Preparing a certificate chain from a CA signed certificate for upload into IBM Spectrum Protect Plus.
Steps
- Request the CA signed certificate from the destination storage from the storage administrator.
- Request the root CA certificate and any intermediate CA certificates.
- Combine all certificates in one file:
- Open a file editor that is able to manipulate ascii files (e.g. notepad ++).
- Create a new file e.g. chain.crt.
- Add all certificates in this new certificate file in the order shown below. Include the begin and end certificate lines, make sure no blank lines exist in the new certificate file.
