About Tendering Methods

The following tendering methods are available in Sterling TMS:

Sequential

The shipper tenders to carriers one at a time using the sequencedefined in the Route Guide.

Manual

The shipper tenders the shipment to only one carrier.

Youcan also perform a direct tender which is different from a manualtender:

  • Use a direct tender to override the Route Guide and select a carrierthat does not have a valid contract rate for the shipment.
  • Use a manual tender to offer the shipment to a contracted carrierbased on the Route Guide rules your organization defined.
Broadcast

The shipper tenders to multiple carriers at the same time.The shipment is awarded to the first carrier to accept the tender.

Broadcast for Capacity

The shipper tenders to multiple carriers or a list of carriersat the same time. The tender usually includes an initial offer amount.

Thecarrier can accept this offer or submit a bid with a different amount.

Aftercarriers respond to the tender the shipper can select the carrierto take the load.

Broadcast for Review

The shipper tenders to a list of carriers at the same time.The tender usually includes an initial offer amount.

The carriercan accept this offer but cannot submit a bid with a different amount.
