Troubleshooting
Problem
Starting the Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) for z/OS (COMPID=5697WSZ01) controller and get an S338 abend.
Resolving The Problem
AbendS338 (Abend S338 Abend338) is a library authorization problem.
Check the STEPLIB concatenation in the CONTROLLER proc. One or more of those libraries is not authorized. Check the PROGxx member in SYS1.PARMLIB to make sure that there is an entry for each library in the STEPLIB concatenation and that the VOLSER specified is correct.
Make the necessary changes, then enter console command SET PROG=xx where xx is the suffix of the PROGxx member.
Restart the CONTROLLER task and the S338 abend should not occur.
