  • Select Properties Under the Driver tab, click the "Update Driver" button and click Next.
  • Choose to "Search for a suitable driver for my device," and click Next. In Optional Search Locations, choose to specify a location, and click Next.

  • Windows finds the driver that had been installed previous to the addition of Service Pack 4.
  • Click Next and Finish.
Additional information

This yellow bang is on the USB controller.

This controller requires USB2.0 driver support which is in the Intel chipset driver package.

These symptoms occur because the driver package for the Intel chipset E7520 and 915G/P/GV is USB2.0 compliant and Service Pack 4 was not.

The USB 2.0 spec was developed and released after Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000.

Therefore, if Service Pack 4 is applied after the driver was installed, then Service Pack 4 will put it's own driver in place.

Then the device yellow bangs in Device Manager.

To solve this, the driver needs to be re-applied after Windows 2000, Service Pack 4 installation.

This will re-update it to the USB 2.0 compliant driver.

Download the Windows 2000 driver for the Intel E7520 and 915G/P/GV chipset.
