Setting breakpoints

A breakpoint stops a task at a predetermined rule set, rule, action, or function. A breakpoint can stop the task when a task starts processing a specific document, page, or field.

About this task

  • For rule sets and rules, you can set only breakpoints, not full breakpoints.
  • The document, page, or field must exist in the runtime hierarchy before you can set a breakpoint on it.

Procedure

To set breakpoints:

  1. Set a breakpoint on a rule set, rule, function, or action:
    1. Go to the Rulesets pane on the Datacap Studio Test tab.
    2. Right-click the item and select Set breakpoint or Set full breakpoint.
  2. Set a breakpoint on a document, page, or field:
    1. Go to the Runtime batch hierarchy pane on the Datacap Studio Test tab.
    2. Right-click the item and select Set breakpoint or Set full breakpoint.
