Data that is not migrated

Due to differences in structure, function, and processes, some data in IBM® Rational® DOORS® is not migrated to IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation.

Some data structures and processes in Rational DOORS have no functional equivalent in Rational DOORS Next Generation. The Jazz platform, on which Rational DOORS Next Generation is built, provides alternative ways to do similar functions. For example, Jazz provides alternative capabilities for team collaboration, view filters and sorting, suspicion, baselines, access control, and security. You can use the Migration Metrics utility during the analysis phase of the migration to determine which data is impacted.

These data types are not migrated:

  • Access controls.
  • Attribute DXL; however, the displayed results are migrated.
  • Baseline set definitions.
  • Baseline sets.
  • Baselines.
  • Descriptive modules.
  • Dictionaries.
  • Discussions; however, the displayed results in columns are migrated.
  • Rational DOORS partitions.
  • Rational DOORS project and module archives; that is, DPA or DMA.
  • DXL.
  • Favorites.
  • Filters.
  • Groups.
  • History.
  • Inbound OSLC links.
  • Layout DXL; however, this data can be converted to Attribute DXL so that the displayed results are migrated.
  • Link attributes.
  • Link modules.
  • Linkset pairings.
  • Page setups.
  • Predicate mappings; that is, mapping attributes to URIs.
  • ReqIF packages.
  • Shareable sections.
  • Soft-deleted data; that is, data that is deleted but not purged.
  • Sorts.
  • Suspicion.
  • Template files for IBM Rational Publishing Engine.
  • Triggers.
  • Working sets.

These Rational DOORS add-ons and integrations have no equivalent capability in Rational DOORS Next Generation. Metadata for these capabilities might be included in migrated modules, objects, and attributes, but it is not supported in Rational DOORS Next Generation. During the analysis phase, you can identify this metadata by using the Migration Metrics utility. This analysis helps you decide whether to remove the metadata during the preparation phase.
