The architecture of Content Collector for SAP

Content Collector for SAP consists of several components. By using these components, you can archive and view data, documents, and print lists, and you can link archived documents.

Content Collector for SAP has the following components:

  • Collector Server, which is the central component of Content Collector for SAP. It handles all operations regarding archiving, linking, retrieving, and updating data, documents, and print lists.
  • A plug-in for IBM® Content Navigator, which contains the following features:
    • Configuration Feature. With this feature, you configure the Collector Server instances.
    • Administration Feature. With this feature, you create profiles for the following tasks: archiving incoming documents, linking archived documents, and transferring index information from SAP to the archived documents.
    • Operation Feature. With this feature, you create, schedule, and run the tasks.
  • An API that external application, such as IBM Datacap, must use to communicate with Content Collector for SAP.
Figure 1 illustrates the Content Collector for SAP environment. It shows the individual components of Content Collector for SAP and how Content Collector for SAP communicates with SAP, IBM Content Navigator, and the repositories.
