What to do next

If you encounter a problem running the guest platform management provider, IBM® Support personnel might request you to run specific commands to collect data required to diagnose the problem.

To collect diagnostic logs and Java™ dumps, run the collectLogs.sh command. This command packages diagnostic data in a Java archive (JAR) file that you can send as directed by IBM Support. The command syntax is:
/usr/lpp/bcp/mca/bin/collectLogs.sh –dir path
Replace the path variable with the directory in which you want to place the JAR file. For example, suppose you issue this command, specifying /tmp as the location for the JAR file. When the collectLogs.sh command completes processing, you can see messages similar to the following example:
 /usr/lpp/bcp/mca/bin/collectLogs.sh –dir /tmp
Debug logs gathered into file /tmp/hvemcaDebug_2010_08_13_09_04_35.jar
