EDG4035I VOLUME volser REJECTED. VOLUME IS SCRATCH
AND OUTPUT NOT TO FIRST FILE ExplanationFor scratch volumes, data sets on the volume must be written in sequence. The first file must be written to first. The request was rejected because the file that was being written was not the first file on the volume. In the message text:
System actionIf DFSMSrmm is operating in warning mode, the volume specified in this message can be used and DFSMSrmm issues message EDG4004I. If DFSMSrmm is operating in protect mode, DFSMSrmm issues message EDG4005E or EDG4006E. Operator responseNone. System programmer responseIf the volume has been correctly rejected, no action is necessary.
