DATA SET RECORD data_set_name SEQUENCE sequence1 ON VOLUME volser OUT OF SEQUENCE, SEQUENCE sequence2 EXPECTED.

Explanation

The EDGUTIL VERIFY or MEND functions have examined the sequence of data sets on the volume and determined that there is a sequencing error.

In the message text:
data_set_name
The data set name.
sequence1
The data set's sequence number.
volser
The volume serial number of the volume.
sequence2
The correct sequence number.

System action

Processing continues. For VERIFY, a minimum return code of 4 is set.

Operator response

None.

System programmer response

If the request was MEND, no action is needed, otherwise run EDGUTIL requesting MEND to correct this.
