Explanation

DFSMSdss is unable to copy the new increment because the operation will reverse the Incremental FlashCopy® direction while the previous background copy is in progress. If the FCWAIT(numsecs, numretries) keyword is specified, the background copy does not complete within the specified maximum wait time.

System action

DFSMSdsss terminates the copy operation. The return code is 8.

Programmer response

Take one of the following actions:
  • Allow sufficient wait time by designating appropriate retry interval and retry count in the FCWAIT keyword and resubmit the job.
  • Use ICKDSF FLASHCPY QUERY RELATIONS command or TSO FCQUERY command to verify the background copy has completed, and resubmit the DFSMSdss Incremental FlashCopy job.
