Configuring CICS to run applications

CICS provides support for running applications in different high-level languages, including COBOL, C, C++, PL/I, Assembler, and Java.

All the high-level languages require Language Environment, which is typically enabled during the installation of CICS. CICS also supports specific versions of the compilers for each language. For information on the supported levels, see High-level language and compiler support.
