Deploying the web application on WebSphere Application Server

After you build the web application EAR file, you must deploy the web application to your WebSphere Application Server environment. You can use the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool to deploy your IBM ECM CMIS for Enterprise Content Management web application, or you can deploy the EAR file manually.

Before you begin

You must complete the other web application configuration tasks before you can deploy the web application to your WebSphere Application Server environment. If any of the configuration tasks fail, the deployed web application will not work properly.

Tip: If you used the wizard to configure the web application, you cannot deploy the web application until all of the required configuration tasks have run successfully.

This task assumes that you have a configuration profile open in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool.

About this task

Tip: If you are using the wizard to configure the web application and you want to manually deploy the web application to WebSphere Application Server, click Advanced.

Procedure

To deploy the web application on WebSphere Application Server:

  1. Open the following task in your configuration profile: Deploy the Web Application.
  2. Complete the task by using the values that you entered in the Worksheet for deploying the web application on WebSphere Application Server.
  3. Click Next to run the task.

If you are manually running the tasks in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool, you can take one of the following actions:

    • Click Run Task to run the task now. This option is recommended because it makes it easier to troubleshoot and resolve problems if they occur.
    • Wait until all of the tasks are complete and then click Run All Tasks to run all of the tasks that are required to configure and deploy the web application.

What to do next

After you configure and deploy your IBM ECM CMIS for Enterprise Content Management web application, you must verify your IBM ECM CMIS deployment.
