Moving to IBM Cloud™

The Lift to cloud user interface provides a way for you to quickly, securely, and reliably migrate tables and their data from your on-premise data center to a data center in the cloud, without downtime. Each migration task that you submit is automatically saved and can be used as a template to create new tasks.

Since version 1.0.11.0, IBM Lift is integrated with IAS. In the web console, a Lift to cloud panel is available for managing migration tasks.

You can move your data to one of the following IBM Cloud managed services: As a prerequisite, you need an instance of Db2 on Cloud, or Db2 Warehouse on Cloud.

You can define both source and target in the configuration panels and then specify how to map them. You can select to drop or recreate any already existing tables in the target. You can also choose to load data incrementally if the table already exist.

Once you run the task, it can be saved for later as a template. You can view the progress in the web console.
