OpenStack support summary

The Storwize® Cinder driver supports several OpenStack versions and releases of Storwize family products.

The following tables summarize the OpenStack versions that are supported by Storwize family products. An x in a column indicates that the specific release supports the OpenStack version.

Note: Some of the Supported release columns in each table refer to multiple releases:
  • 7.6 includes Release 7.6.0 and Release 7.6.1.
  • 7.7 includes Release 7.7.0 and Release 7.7.1.
  • 7.8 includes Release 7.8.0 and Release 7.8.1.
  • 8.1 includes Release 8.1.0 through Release 8.1.3
  • 8.2 includes Release 8.2.0 and Release 8.2.1.
  • 8.3 includes Release 8.3.0.

SAN Volume Controller support

Table 1 summarizes the OpenStack versions that are supported in each release of SAN Volume Controller.

Storwize V3500 and Storwize V3700 support

Note: Starting in Release 8.1, Storwize V3500 and Storwize V3700 systems are no longer supported.

Support is provided for the following systems: Storwize V5000 Gen1, Storwize V5000 Gen2, Storwize V5000E, FlashSystem 5000, Storwize V5100, and FlashSystem 5100.

Notes:
  • Starting in Release 8.1, Storwize V5000 Gen1 systems are no longer supported.
  • OpenStack support for Storwize V5000 Gen2 systems began in Release 7.7.0.
  • OpenStack support for Storwize V5000E and Storwize V5100 systems began in Release 8.2.1.
  • OpenStack support for FlashSystem 5000 and FlashSystem 5100 systems began in Release 8.3.1.

Storwize V7000 and FlashSystem 7200 support

Support is provided for the following systems: Storwize V7000 Gen1, Storwize V7000 Gen2, Storwize V7000 Gen2+, Storwize V7000 Gen3, and FlashSystem 7200.

Notes:
  • Starting in Release 8.1, Storwize V7000 Gen1 systems are no longer supported.
  • OpenStack support for Storwize V7000 Gen3 systems began in Release 8.2.1.
  • OpenStack support for FlashSystem 7200 systems began in Release 8.3.1.

  • OpenStack support for FlashSystem 9100 systems began in Release 8.2.1.
