McAfee VirusScan® (VSE) for Storage extends the technology of McAfee Enterprise VirusScan to the data center by providing real-time threat protection to NAS environments. VSE for Storage scans files in real time when they are added or modified on the NAS device. If an infected file is detected, it is immediately quarantined. One VSE for Storage scanner can be configured to support multiple NAS devices, or for robust failover, multiple VSE for Storage scanners can be configured to scan a single multi-terabyte storage device.

VSE for Storage is administered by McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePO™). You can optionally deploy ePO to manage all of your McAfee security solutions and add VSE for Storage to your existing ePO infrastructure. With ePO as the hub of McAfee security risk management (SRM) solutions, administrators can configure and enforce protection policies, monitor security status, access centralized event monitoring, reports, dashboard, and workflow 24/7 from one centralized, web-based management console.
