Creating requirement artifacts

The first step in composing requirements is to collect and create the background information that will elicit effective requirements. Because the information can be in many different forms, you can create several types of artifacts to contain the information.

About this task

Create rich-text documents and graphical artifacts to collect ideas and background information from your stakeholders. Each artifact type provides different kinds of structures and tools to provide detailed descriptions. You can then gather the artifacts into documents of greater specification. From these artifacts you can select and generate requirements artifacts that will drive the next steps in your product development process.
