You can perform a custom installation of WSRR by starting the Launchpad, and selecting
the Custom option.
About this task
When you perform a custom installation, the launchpad installs IBM® Installation Manager (if it is not already installed), WebSphere® Application Server and WSRR.
Procedure
- Start the launchpad application, see .
- In the left pane of the launchpad, click Custom.
- Specify whether you want to install WSRR as an administrative user or non-administrative
user.
- Click Install. The Installation Manager Install Packages wizard
starts.
- On the Install page of the Install Packages wizard, all
recommended packages, and WSRR are
preselected for installation. Click Next.
- On the Install Packages wizard Licenses page, read through
the license agreement and then select I accept the terms
in the license agreement. Click Next.
- On the Install Packages wizard Shared Resources Location page, click
Next to accept the default shared resources location..
- On the Install Packages wizard Location page, IBM WebSphere Application Server - ND_xxxxx (where xxxxx is
the date timestamp) and the Use the existing package group radio
button are selected by default. Leave those selections as they are
and click Next.
Note: The Install
Packages wizard displays a message if it detects any running processes.
If you see this message, click Cancel, shut
down the running processes, and begin the installation again.
- The Install Packages wizard checks your operating system
to make sure that it meets the prerequisites for installing WSRR. The
action you take depends on the results of the prerequisite check:
- On the Install Packages wizard Features
page, accept the default selections and click Next.
- Review the summary information. If the summary information
is incorrect, click Back to change your selections.
- Click Install. When
the installation is complete, a page displays the status of the installation
and which packages have been successfully installed.
Important: This process can take several minutes. Do not proceed
until this page is displayed.
- To launch the Profile Management Tool, leave the Profile
Management Tool radio button selected. Otherwise, select
the radio button for None.
- Click Finish.
Results
WSRR is installed.
What to do next
You must define a stand-alone server profile or a deployment
manager in the Profile Management Tool or using the manageprofiles command.
Only profiles created with the Profile Management Tool or manageprofiles command
can be used in production. See the topics under Creating profiles and Augmenting profiles for more information.
