Configuring Business Space for approval process tasks

The granting or refusing of approval in the approval process is carried out in the Process Server Business Space.

About this task

You must add the approval task widget to Business Space to implement the approval process.

Procedure

To configure approval process in Business Space:

  1. Log in to the Process Server Business Space by opening a web browser and entering the address https://wps_server:port/BusinessSpace if security is enabled, or http://wps_server:port/BusinessSpace if security is not enabled. For example, http://mywpshost:9080/BusinessSpace or https://mywpshost:9443/BusinessSpace.
  2. Create a new business space from the Manage Spaces menu based on the blank template. Give it a name such as "Service Registry Approvals".
  3. Add a new empty page to your business space by clicking the plus icon next to the "Page 1" tab. Give the new page a name such as "Governance Approval Tasks".
  4. Add the widgets My Tasks and Task Information (for Process Server V7.0) or Tasks and Task Information (for Process Server V7.5) to your page.
  5. Add the widgets Service Registry Collection and Service Registry Detail to your page (add other Service Registry widgets as required).
  6. Click Save.

Configuring Business Space by using a template

You can also configure Business Space by using a template.

About this task

You can create a space named "Service Registry Approvals" based on the Managing My Tasks template

Procedure

To configure Business Space by using a template:

  1. Log in to the WebSphere Process Server Business Space by opening a web browser and entering the address http://wps_server:port/BusinessSpace.
  2. Click Manage Spaces to open the Space Manager window.
  3. Click Create Space.
  4. In the Create Space window, type "Service Registry Approvals" in the Space name field.
  5. Type "Approval Process Tasks" in the Space description field.
  6. Select Create a new space using a template, and select Managing My Tasks from the list.
  7. Click Save.

Configuring Business Space for other users

As an administrator, you can set up spaces and give users access to the spaces.

Before you begin

You must create a Service Registry Approvals business space before you can share it.

Procedure

To share the Service Registry Approvals business space:

  1. Click Manage Spaces to open the Space Manager window.
  2. In the row for the space you want to share, click Actions > Share.
  3. In the Share window, search for the users that you want to give access to.
  4. Drag users to the Add to View pane to give them read-only access to Business Space, or drag users to the Add to Edit pane to give them read and write access to Business Space.
