The IBM Support Assistant (ISA) is a free local software
serviceability workbench that helps you resolve questions and problems
with IBM software products. It provides quick access to support-related
information along with serviceability tools for problem determination.
A WSRR plug-in for ISA is available, enabling you to use ISA to help with diagnosing WSRR
problems and submitting problem reports to IBM . If a PMR needs to be opened, ISA helps you
gather support information, then create and track your electronic problem report.
ISA offers the following components:
- A search component, which helps you access pertinent support information
in multiple locations.
- A product information component, which provides a convenient location
to access various web resources such as IBM product sites, IBM support
sites, and links to IBM news groups.
- A tools component, which allows you to use specialized software
tools to diagnose product problems.
- A service component, which helps you submit an enhanced problem
report that includes key system data to IBM. The data collector of
the service component supports problem-specific data collection.
- An updater component, which enables you to add IBM products and
tools to ISA.
