You enable tracing for a Collector Server instance in the instance
configuration. You start and stop tracing by using the archadmin command. Starting with Content Collector for SAP Applications 4.0 Fix Pack 1
(4.0.0.1), you can start and stop tracing also from Operation Feature.
Procedure

In Configuration Feature, open the Collector Server instance for which you want to
enable tracing.

For Tracing, select On or
Dynamic.
Prefer to select Dynamic because tracing then stops after the instance is
fully initialized. If you select On, you enable continuous tracing, which
affects the performance considerably.
In a server configuration profile, you find the following specification that relates to
the tracing:

Restarting a Collector Server instance.

You can stop tracing and start it again at any time:
- By using the archadmin command. For more
information, see archadmin.
From Operation Feature. Complete these steps:
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Connection Monitoring.
- Double-click the Collector Server
instance for which you want to view a trace or a log.
- Under Tracing, click On or
Off.
