Downloading the Cloud Pak for Data backup and restore scripts

Important: IBM Cloud Pak® for Data Version 4.8 will reach end of support (EOS) on 31 July, 2025. For more information, see the Discontinuance of service announcement for IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.X.

Upgrade to IBM Software Hub Version 5.1 before IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.8 reaches end of support. For more information, see Upgrading from IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.8 to IBM Software Hub Version 5.1.

Some backup and restore scripts are needed for online and offline backup and restore, such as cpd-operators.sh.

About this task

4.8.5 For Cloud Pak for Data 4.8.5, you must download version 4.8.5 of the scripts.

4.8.5 If your Cloud Pak for Data deployment includes watsonx Orchestrate®, you must download backup-script.zip and restore-script.zip so that you can back up and restore IBM App Connect. For details on downloading and extracting the contents of the files, see Backing up and restoring your IBM App Connect resources and persistent volumes on Red Hat® OpenShift®.

For Cloud Pak for Data 4.8.4 and earlier, you can use version 4.8.3 of the scripts. However, the same version of the scripts that is used to create a backup must be used to restore that backup. For example, you can use version 4.8.0 of the scripts to back up and restore Cloud Pak for Data 4.7.4. However, you cannot use version 4.8.0 of the scripts to create the backup and then use version 4.7.4 of the scripts to restore the backup.
