Creating virtual objects

You can use the Data Virtualization service to create virtual objects from various data sources so that you can query and use the data as if it came from a single source.

The Data Virtualization service provides multiple methods to create virtual objects:

Create virtualized tables from multiple data sources.
Create virtualized table from data that is stored as CSV, TSV, and Excel files on remote data sources.
Create a join view from multiple tables.

When you create virtual objects, it is important to gather statistics for the objects to ensure good query performance. For more information, see Improving query performance (Data Virtualization).
